WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So I picked up the MA-750s today. I really like the sound. There's no inline mic with the one I have though. Lol.

It is what it is. Gonna break them in next week.
That's excellent. Please let us know how you like the sound once they're broken in.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So over two weeks in with the G7...

Design wise, I still don't think it needed to be this tall. It isn't as tall or as narrow as a S9(+), and I welcome the not as curved screen. In reality though, it isn't much taller than the XZ2 - the reduction of the bezels that gives more real estate in comparison between both of those devices. I appreciate the lightness, which to me doesn't make the device feel cheap. I still preferred the V35/V30 design.

I think Samsung noticed that asking people even with bigger hands to juggle these taller narrower phones requires a reworking of the skin. LG has to do the same as it is still a pain to access the top of the screen. LG also has to be better with software updates. I'm on the November 2018 patch, which isn't bad, but having used an unlocked V20 that went a year between updates didn't make sense.

Camera is solid. Love the versatility and the wide angle. The smaller micron size was a mistake. I'm waiting to see how the G cam port runs on this when smoother (the port is in better working shape for the V35).

Audio had been worth the price of admission. Just as I remember from the jack.

I wish LG had gone to 128GB +6GB internal this year. Or had gone with the 64GB internal + 6GB RAM (and save the 128GB + 6GB for Korea) from the V35 as the global standard variant. I wish they had their old international model with the radio configuration. When I get signal, it's good. On wifi, it runs heavenly. But lacking the US radios on the international model just sucks.

Battery life has been decent. Kinda similar to the XZ2. I think the radio situation + me running 3 Bluetooth devices at once didn't help. I run the screen on 1080P and that works fine for me.

In summary, this works for what I want it to do. I can see why it's same old forgotten LG. It's a very good handset, but people don't find reliable all rounders to be appealing.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So just a coke of more pics of the chateau. Found out more information.

It's the largest chateau in the Loir Valley. Although not confirmed, it's believed to be designed by Leonardo Da Vinci. The plans are missing. There's a double helix staircase in the center of it which is a pretty neat considering its 500 years old.

No one ever lived in it. The king who built it only stayed a total of 73 days.

I like Rue's pictures...but a part of me is saying "if he had a wide angle lens..."

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Having owned a G7, what would I have done differently?

If I didn't care about audio as much a Pixel 3XL/ Huawei Mate 10 Pro would be my daily driver and a V40 would be my creator phone. That way I'd have decent battery life and a good camera on hand for daily usage and a separate beast when I want to be creative.

It still reminds of how special the old 950 XL was where I have to use two Android phones to get the versatility hardware wise of that device.

Technically the camera is a wide angle. Most smartphones are.

I need to get a new DSLR (or compact DSLR) and get some good lenses. A smartphone simply cannot capture things that well.

My DSLR is a bit out of date now. Nothing wrong with it but I'd like to have active view and video recording as well.

When I get grown up, I'll get a DSLR. My old Nikon P5100 is the closest thing I have. I always looked at my friend's dad's rig and smile.

Same here. My DSLR is 9 years old and needs a bit of work to coax out some really good shots.

The funny thing is newer ones are half price with double the lenses from what I paid back in 2009.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

There is a neighborhood in our town that is super decked out with lights this time of the year.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Those places with all the lights and displays are often in the news. I can't recall if there were any in the UK like that. Here in France people are generally low key however we have one neighbour near us who's done a good job.

I think our DSLR is 2007/8.

Just did a little research into mirrorless compacts. I thought they were getting more affordable! I'll have to do some research to figure out what I want and where to get it.

I'd prefer full frame but I may have to give it a miss at those prices.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

It's Christmas eve...and I have a full work day ahead. Lol.

It's times like this where I wish I was home as we would get both Christmas and Boxing day (the day after Christmas) off. Sigh.

A good friend of mine has a mirrorless compact. I believe it's an Olympus but the pictures are 7/10. The DSLR cameras are still better. I have a Canon but am leaning towards the Nikon or Sony cameras this time around.

It’s Christmas Eve and I’m attending jobsite meetings. I have to look like I’m sending an important email so my Cuban temper doesn’t go apes**t. Hang in there.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I have been itching to make this dish for a long time. There is a ready to eat version available at the Indian grocery store in the frozen section. So since it is a chill day I decided to make it. Spicy cabbage rolls which are getting steamed. After they're steamed, I'm going to slice them and then pan fry in light oil with mustard and sesame seeds.

Off to do a home visit to have a heart to heart with a client. I'm done for the day afterwards.
