Ok I officially hate the new fingerprint scanner on the Xperia 1.

It's total garbage. I've redone my fingerprints twice now and it still didn't work right.

Hopefully they fix it.

I personally think the Nokia 9 and the Sonu Xperia 1 are tied here.

The level of annoyance is about the same. Being in your pocket makes it have accidental touches so you have to unlock with a PIN. Sometimes it unlocks easily, too easily. Others timee forget it. It's so inconsistent it's not funny.

Not sure the case had anything to do with this but it shouldn't.

I personally think the Nokia 9 and the Sonu Xperia 1 are tied here.

I paid about $35 more than what I wanted, but I picked up the galaxy watch. Now I think I'm done. I'll still seek to get the Gear Sport repaired, but it's now really lower on the list.

I do love the Fossil Q Explorist series though. If I didn't have so many watches already, I'd have gotten one. They didn't do the Explorist HR in regular gold this time, and that's a shame.

I am look forward to this watch. It's an exercise in sometimes looking past the sticker shock of something to see if it can be a fit. I'm really enjoying the S3 classic but wanted something a bit more subdued for daily wear. I'll likely get a few more bands and then I'll be set. If I do transition to a dual Sim as a daily driver, this is what I'll use for it.

Hmm I'm surprised to hear you say that because I remember the intense dislike for those types with OnePlus and Samsung. It sounds like you have a different opinion and/or experience towards them.

I am look forward to this watch. It's an exercise in sometimes looking past the sticker shock of something to see if it can be a fit. I'm really enjoying the S3 classic but wanted something a bit more subdued for daily wear. I'll likely get a few more bands and then I'll be set. It'll be good. If I'm objective, a variant of the 9 Pureview has the inside track to take the place of the G7+. I tell you what though, the K20 has really impressed me.

If I'm truly honest, it's likely a 9 Pureview and a Mix 3 as the next additions. I'm glad I'm in NO rush to add either.

I have a Mate 20 Pro that has one, along with a wide *** notch with Face ID support. It's been...fine. I typically keep my fingers dry, and reliability with the sensor has been solid enough for me. I still prefer rear mounted scanners the same way I prefer 3.5mm.

Interesting to see that in physical FS tech came in 2014 and is being already phased out in 2019 for UDPFS options. Time marches on indeed.

They should've just figured out how to get it in the USA.

There's been lots of reports and shows here in Europe and that includes the UK about plastics for a few years now.

They're out to ban single use plastics here in Europe. Which is the biggest issue. Single use should only ever existed in specific cases and then even that should've been recycled.

There's a place for plastic but not as a cheap throw away thing that pollutes out environment.

The problem is huge. Most news focuses on the marine side which is bad but that's like the tip of the iceberg. There's a lot of hidden issues and it's just now coming out.

Things need to change but with powerful lobby groups and far right governments who think nothing is wrong we're pretty screwed.

Nice.. Is that guitar & flashy garb of Hendrix? I was listening to quite a bit of Hendrix, esp his first 3 albums & several of his "blues" compilation.
And I always have time for Bowie... He had tons and tons of great tracks.. and albums..

Last time I read, it was a licensing issue. Guess they ****ed up some contract here and had to pay for it. Maybe the should have just used the same old one and put the power button on the left hand side.

With Sony, who knows.

Plastics.. and our addiction to it..
It's sad.
Over in Sabah, we have beautiful islands and beaches. But once the tide comes and go, it leaves a horrendous amount of garbage on the shores, >90% constitute of plastic bottles and bags. (try google 'Semporna garbage') There's a blame game going on, especially on the illegal settlement of seaside villages without proper facilities, lack of education & enforcement..
I fear for the pollution of the seas and land by micro-plastics which will eventually end up on our dinner table..
It's sad.
