Thinking about a Note 10 in white, strangely. I'm not displeased with the V40, on the contrary I really like it. It is just the battery isn't where I'd like it to be. I'm seeing where in some sense, the Note 10's battery is similar. If that's the case, not sure if trading the V40 is really that much of an improvement. Will I use the S Pen enough? (I'm not using the stock launcher, that's for sure).

I guess it's why I was also thinking about the Xperia 5. They both are nice, but I'm not sure if they're the nice enough to go through the hassle to get them nice.
Are you looking at the Note 10 or Note 10+? The Note 10 lacks SD card slot and has worse battery life than Note 10+ or S10 (regular or +).

If I were to give up both a headphone jack and an SD card slot, I'd get a Pixel not a Samsung device.

I was looking at the Note 10. Have no need for the extra horsepower for the Note 10+.

I am in agreement in leaning towards a Pixel over a Note 10 to lose both headphone jack and microSD. I may just be inclined to skip this year and get something next year or wait until the Pixel 4 gets a lot cheaper.

Have there been any camera updates, Rue?
Unfortunately Sony doesn't release an update log so we really don't know what they fix. I'm thinking any big fix will be with Android 10. Not that there's anything really wrong.

According to some websites I've looked at there have been updates to the camera to make it quicker and fix some things. The last security patch definitely made the fingerprint scanner better but it's still not perfect.

For me the camera works well. It's a good starting point for photos and in some cases it works brilliantly without editing. I like that it doesn't overdo anything. Even with HDR.

In difficult lighting any camera will be hard pressed to produce a fantastic shot.

With these pictures I needed to edit them to produce what feel I wanted. The lighting has been pretty grey and dark lately and you're just not going to get that feeling you want sometimes. I don't think it would matter what phone I was using either I'd probably still edit the photos.

Saying that if I put up the unedited photos I think you'd agree they're not that bad all things considered.

#chateauxlife.

Nice pictures. I wondered whe we would start to see these again. My needling aside, these are always very impressive structures.
We probably won't go to many more of these. Unless by accident. Next installments will be in spring.

We'll be going to Paris and surrounding areas for Xmas markets so lots of those type pics coming. Along with more journeys in general to Paris to different sites. Still lots to see in Paris. Just scratched the surface really.

So in other news we've just gave notice on our rental property here. One month.

It's a long story and we were planning to leave anyway but we're just tired of dealing with these owners.

We haven't found anything yet but we're viewing a house on Wednesday. We're hoping to get it but if necessary we'll move back to temp accommodation until we find something.

Anything is better than staying here.

Today is a holiday in France so I'm off work.

Thanks for sharing.

Some people want the cameras to do the work, some people like to be more involved in the picture taking process.

Yay for an off day! I hope that the viewing goes well and that y'all find a place.

MIA, I don't know if you knew this already so I apologize for the duplicate information (if so). You mentioned that you want to use Verizon prepaid for your future plans. Verizon has recently doubled the data on most lines. 1gb may or may not be enough for you, but the next plan is now 6gb for 35 (with AutoPay).

I appreciate the updated information. Now have to find something that works on Verizon (likely the iPhone).

You're welcome. iPhones work well and probably have the least hassle. I'm using a factory unlocked (direct from Samsung) S10e and I have all functions, such as WiFi calling and VoLTE. I don't notice that anything is missing for me, aside from not being able to use the Samsung visual voicemail app (this is a prepaid limitation, not a Verizon one). I can say that all S10s work just like this. I can guess that the experience should be the same for the Note 10 series.

Since you're in NYC, your speed experience will likely be different from mine but I haven't had any issues with that or connection in the nearly 8 months I have been using prepaid. My friend uses the same as me but has a Pixel 2 (or 3) and it's fine for him on prepaid. I'm not sure what made him switch from Google Fi to Verizon, I'll have to ask him sometime.

It would be better if I got paid for the day off...

Yeah I hope we get this house.

The owners still haven't replied to our email. So I'm a bit annoyed.
