WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So who else is looking under their sofa cushions for $1400 to get the Duo? I can't help it, I'm intrigued knowing it won't be a Ma Bell exclusive. My only concerns are the stated battery figures and the lack of NFC.

I stopped listening for the leaks so I'm amazed that it will actually be available for people to buy. Reading about it, it is interesting for sure but I'll pass. I need reviews, and I can't do a device at this price lol.

Also go Microsoft for 3 years of updates! I'm hoping that it will have better durability than some of the Surface line.

Meanwhile the vicious creatures stirs in the night.

Aww! So cute.

It's been very hot here the last few days. On Saturday after being cooped up all day in the house we decided to go for a drive in the mountains nearby and we came across a thoroughbred farm. Took a picture of it from a high viewpoint.

The drive was taking us towards Lake Piru (where Glee star Naya Rivera drowned). Lake is closed now. They release water from the dam and so the creek was full of water and flowing really well.

Went to the beach yesterday as it was hot here. The beach was quite warm as well 80F (hottest in my 9 years in California). Found some washed up kelp on the beach and also spotted a school of fish which the pelicans wanted to devour. Posting a couple of pictures below.

Debating getting an old Moto or LG phone to tinker with Lineage OS. Any recommendations?

How old? The Moto Nexus 6 is certainly big enough and should still have an unlockable bootloader. Lord knows there are plenty of custom recoveries for it.

Yeah the Nexus 6 is supported but that is too old a device to tinker with IMO.
I was looking more at LG G6 (2017 device) or Moto G7 (2019 device) so that they have more longevity than phones that are close to 5-6 years old.

I think you're better off with the LG, at least it has a 821 chip. Just know you'll need to keep it charging most of the time because an hour glass lasts longer than that battery. The G7 is probably woefully underpowered for any such tasks.

Life in the tropics. Keeping an eye on yet another storm with her sights set on the 305. Her name is.........Laura. 🤣

I wasn't sure if Marco was going to hit a nerve with you or not. Now I know.

His total failure to condemn the NRA’s treatment of the Stoneman Douglas survivors done did it for me. We can disagree on policy till the cows come home but for a hometown US Senator to fall apart like a house of cards like that? It’s obvious “vote lives matter” to him more than kids.
