I'm talking prior to Android. I don't remember seeing many feature phones from Motorola at AT&T or Cingular. Verizon and Sprint always had a lot of Motorola feature phones, like AT&T/Cingular had a lot of Nokia feature phones.

I remember my first phone, which was the first Razer flip phone, was on Cingular.

I know the V-series were much more popular with CDMA carriers. Most of my friends who have Verizon had V-series Motorolas.

My first phone was a Siemens C-45. My first color screen phone was a Sony Ericsson T68i. My first high end feature phone was the Nokia 7210.

Was Motorola ever popular outside of North America?

Not the smartphones, but the flip devices were a big thing in Europe. I had this blue shiny one, it was beautiful. Actually, I still have it, but the battery is dead.
