Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers is now live | Windows Phone Central

And so it begins. I'm happy for at least the t-mo US 8x and 810 customers, as this is the closest thing they'll get to the official OTA update.

You know what would have been even nicer? It MSFT rolled out both the preview and live update this week. That would be cool. At least with my 8X I would get it before my 925, so that's always a nice treat.

That all depends how good the preview is. It's possible the preview may have some bugs. So, I don't mind some road testing prior to an official update.

I'm using my 520 as a test dummy to get WP8.1 first, as i'll get 8.1 on my 1520 when the official public update comes out.

Well the initial update was to prepare my phone for 8.1, so that's something that i've never had done before.

What's really frustrating is that I was through a few updates before it conked out on me. One of them is obviously pretty big.
