So Verizon killed the Xperia Z4v. Maybe they did VZW customers a favor.

MSFT should take note. Offer a North American variant carrying all the bands and sell it unlocked. Don't use the Insider Program as a cop out for selling your carrier locked phone on a carrier that won't move your units. I hope more OEMs go the Moto route here. I understand that the carriers are important here, but you can still sell those unlocked phones and they don't care as much.

Sony US carrier phones are a lost cause. At least t-mo took theirs to lollipop.

For as much flak Moto has gotten these two weeks, they're going the right thing. Keep the new lineup (Moto G as the low end, X Play as the mid range, X Style as the flagship) and your obligatory Droid Variant. Simple. Update the phones timely and market well. I think very soon you'll stop seeing OEMs produce phones selling for north of $650.

Even they aren't immune. If they were bulletproof, you wouldn't see them making 1080P screens and 2GB RAM and OIS and screen bigger than 4". Apple has always been niche. They're playing to their fan base but their problem is giving their fans reasons to upgrade annually while maintaining their high asking price.

Two huge things are allowing users to micromanage app permissions and including OS level support for fingerprint scanners (which people seem to want).
