WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Do tell! Don't leave us in the dark...
It's mixed. There's a lot to like, I wish it had more personality. It's very good, if not solid comparatively speaking.

Would I own one? Sure. Would I buy a V35 over it if the process were the same? Absolutely.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Looks like the Bing Maps for Costa Rica aren't as detailed as Google Maps. So the Idol 4s might end up being left behind.

If the camera were slightly better, I would definitely try the G7 or the V35.

I miss the keyboard on Windows Phone the most. Also somehow for a dead platform Microsoft has improved WM10 quite a bit so it runs really well on three year old hardware.

Ah okay. That's fair. That makes it so hard!

Doing a coffee thing with a guy tomorrow and I'm more curious than excited.

I've noticed that Gboard has improved to the point of being better than WordFlow. I used SwiftKey on Android 3 years ago, but I've found that SwiftKey got worse, and Gboard got better.

Gboard is really good on Android, that is my default on every Android device. I had fun today using WordFlow on my Idol 4s though. I still think auto suggest is better on WM10 compared to Gboard.

In other news the 10.8" Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro is a pretty solid device. It's a really nice upgrade from the M3 tablet.

I'm still making tonnes of typos on GBoard which I wouldn't have made on WP...

I like GBoard but it annoys me to no end. Even after using it for years it still doesn't work well.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I know for sure I will be buying thr surface go.
This is how out of touch I am with Microsoft at the moment and tech in general.

I have no clue what a Surface Go is other than it being a competitor to a Chromebook.

Knowing Microsoft it's probably still more expensive.

Yeah, I just type a bit slower on Android versus WP/WM devices.

Yeah, I noticed that too in my experience.

Here's the extended version.

I like the G7. I respect how Samsung did a nice job with the their new design since the S8. With their phones, I prefer the S8 as footprint wise as in hand feel for me the S8+ design doesn't work (same reason why I disliked the Note 8). It's the same reason why I prefer the Pixel 2 over the 2XL.

So comparing the S9+ vs G7 in-hand feel wise, for me G7 is nicer. Not as narrow, but still gives that sleek, relatively compact feel to it.

The notch doesn't bother me. I really like how clean that LCD looks (I love the panel on my Mix 2 also) and for my eyes the screen isn't overly cold. I never had an issue with LG cameras. I do wish they didn't take away the ability to swap from wide to standard angle while recording video.

I think for me I prefer the slightly wider phones to do work on if I don't have a physical keyboard. For example, the Mix 2 that I'm typing this on has that just enough of that balance of width to work on (and play games in landscape where it doesn't feel so stretched out).

Summary, the V35 has the in hand feel I like more. The G7 is something I could still use and be fine with, especially since (sadly) nobody is buying it so the price drops will be good. The V35 would be better for me because I could keep my books on it and do more reading. Still, I could live with a G7, especially if I get a Mate 10 Pro.

I'm with you here. The only that that would cure my typing woes...a Key 2.

I'm with 99, as I made less mistakes on the WP keyboard. I do like the Blackberry virtual one too, but just got lazy and stuck with G board.

I feel like I'm living in the 305 with how the weather's been for the past month.

I'm with everyone who enjoyed the WP keyboard. As for the Key 2, I had a chance to hold one in my hands this morning and while the bigger keyboard felt a little nicer, the overall change from the Key 1 isn't worth $250 in any way, shape or form. I thought the extra RAM and the newer CPU would make it noticeably quicker, it doesn't. It still has kinetic scrolling stutters and some delay when tapping icons. I grabbed a Key 1 instead. It's working better with the Gear S3 than with my S8+. For some reason, the Galaxy was having Apple Watch tendencies in that notifications were being silenced on the phone?!*#

I'd really suggest you do a prolonged hands-on with the Key 2 if you're seriously thinking about it.

I took the Key 2 off my list, quite frankly. It's a good step, but not the true step in the direction I need to work a certain way.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

The way I'm following my boy Stanton, I feel like I'm in the 212. Or is that the 718?
I'd say technically it's the 718, but since the Yanks have always styled themselves as premier, you should use the 212.
