WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Got the new Wear OS update on the Fossil.

Um, I like the fact that the rotating crown can control the volume. I still prefer the old set up. As always, I'm in the minority of preferring some of the old ways to navigate through Android Wear.

Google has made the launcher "better". We'll see how I feel once it hits my Huawei watches.

Going with the Mix 2 and the Fossil today to test this out further. So far, I'm unimpressed.

Damn.
Cleaning up the clogged moderation queue is exhausting.
I mean it's just spam galore and then you discover a few others that somehow squeaked by and gotta go and clean those out as well.

Almost as bad as a plumbing job I swear.

Although it was nice to see that three threads today that needed approval were all legit and from people who still use WP/WM devices today.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I was waiting for your thoughts on it. I hope that means that you can get those cheaper too.
Honestly, I don't know what was more disappointing: the V40 or the W7.

I don't think the V40 is a bad phone...I just don't understand why LG doesn't just go the AOSP route now and sprinkle in the mods for the camera and DAC. While I don't mind their software, the cruft isn't worth the tremendously long delay for updates.

Looking at the mobile phone situation I'm surprised that all I see is gimmicks still and no real improved phones.

Most people just want the basics covered well and you still can't get that in 2018, almost 2019.

This tells me the mobile industry is stuck. It's still seeing itself as a 'new' industry instead realising it needs to clamp down and stabilise itself.

Pretty sad really.

It is so sad now. Until consumers start voting with their wallets by not buying some of this crud, nothing will change.

This is the main reason why I see someone like Nokia doing really well. The new 7.1 has pretty much all the bases covered for way less than half the price of the flagship device.

Also Samsung with it's BOGO deals is truly a $500 phone and not $900 device maker. Which actually makes the S9+ a better bargain than OP6.

LG has a great opportunity to capitalize here using the Nokia approach but at $200 price tier higher.

Yeah there's nothing too exciting happening out there.

HMD is still running the risk of pumping out too many Nokia phones, even with being on the Android One program.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Hey! How's everything going for you?

Hi @libra89 yeah still going ok - stable job and home life. Still on a Samsung Galaxy S8+ as none of the new phones really seem to have progressed at all. Pretty sad really.

That and in the last couple of months I've had to replace the boiler in our home, so its an expensive time. Maybe something good is coming around the corner, who knows. I like the look of the Surface Studio 2 though!

Ugh! I'm sorry you needed a new boiler. House repair is never cheap. I haven't gotten a new phone either, since I'm not impressed with anything new at this time.

That's a bummer about the boiler Good to hear that everything's been okay for you though, boiler aside of course.

This is true. I wish that they would make a smaller phone though like the 8 Sirocco in size, but maybe update some elements and drop that price a bit.

WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

You know that you really like someone when you write out your message a few times and try to find and use the best words possible.

I know I do but I realized that the other night and I was like whoa, this is a thing.

Hmm this is a really interesting comment, but I don't disagree. It seems like we went down the hole of more cameras instead?
