So Google's Black Friday deals helped me accelerate my timeline for purchasing a Pixel 3.
I hope to be switching to the Pixel 3 sometime before the end of November.
That notch is hideous and I am in the minority camp of someone who likes uniform bezels at the top and bottom if there need to be bezels. I like the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, the Samsung Galaxy series and even the current Pixel 2XL.
Ergo, the Pixel 3 it is for this years upgrade cycle.

I actually miss the BBQs we had in Australia. Though the 35C weather was a bit different than what I was used to at Xmas time!

I actually miss the BBQs we had in Australia. Though the 35C weather was a bit different than what I was used to at Xmas time!

Climate change is what causes 25C days on December 31 here in SoCal.
I don't remember it being this dry and sunny back in the 90s.
We haven't received a drop of rain yet this season and the fires are raging like crazy.

I am trying to convince the Mrs for a vacation to New Zealand or Hawaii. Let's see which one wins out.
Both place should have good weather around New Year.

My lust for the DAC in the V35 is being abated by my Mi Pad 4!?

The headphone jack in the Mi Pad 4 is good enough as Xiaomi has always had one of the better DACs outside of that monster from LG.

Plus, I have a good pair of wireless headphones that give me clean enough sound. It ain't no V35, but the battery life has been sufficient enough to make me not yearning for the DAC as much. Now, Mate 10 Pro vs XZ2? Still debating on that...

Mate 10 Pro over XZ2:

1) IR blaster
2) Bigger battery, better endurance
3) Better camera
4) Better in hand feel

XZ2 over Mate 10 Pro:

1) Newer chip
2) Micro SD
3) Qi
4) Better software support

I don't own the Mate 10 Pro...yet...

I was all interested in the Mini Pixel 3 until I saw the 32GB internal storage. Not even the return of the headphone jack can stop me from saying:

"32GB fixed storage only in 2018? Miss me with that ****."

I've only been to the North Island of New Zealand so could only help with that. If you do choose NZ make your way to a White Island of you can. It's an experience.
