WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

No relationship is linear. You're asking two people to come together to create one thing. There will always be an element of being "conventional" in it.
We're actually watching this show about relationships from Australia. They're doing a social experiment that some psychologist came up with. It's interesting and odd at the same time.

It's realty TV but it has a heart to it. They're trying to help four couples out who are having difficulty.

It's an interesting concept that they're doing.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

It's been a while since I had to go messing with APN settings on a phone to get it to work smoothly. Looks like I have to go do some of that with this G7.

It's very interesting. When I had the international G4 (the same Asian one like this G7), I don't recall having to do that at all. We'll see what happens.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Well, I can see why some people would like the new 18:9 look. Going nearly all screen can be very immersive.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

One of the reasons why I like the G7 so far is that it is forcing me to manage the battery in a positive way. Running the phone with a cleaner set up gives me back a more purpose filled interaction with the device.

So, one consequence of going back to the 3.5mm is what to do with my recently acquired wireless headset. RHA makes some nice stuffs and if I didn't care about audio, these would make a great pairing to something like a Mate RS. Battery life was very good for my usage and the sound was nicely balanced.

I still will use them, just on days when I want to go wireless. As nice as the Xiaomi HDs are, I'll get a pair of wired RHAs as I want something that the DAC can really drive at an affordable price. I saw KSA has some nice affordable models so I may swing for those first.

I went with the compromise of hiding the nab buttons over trying to do something gesture related. The only gesture I use in Nova is swipe up to get the app drawer. I'm not against gestures, I just don't like how Google has done it.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So I see the Yellow Vests were out in force this weekend and the French police arrested a **** ton of people.

In one fall semester of undergraduate college, believe it was the second year, students shut down the school for two days to protest rising tuition costs. While I wasn't a leader in the protest, the first day I went out there and sat in the main driveway into the college with about 100 students. I had some good discussions with some of the people leading the protest.

Again, I can empathize peaceful demonstrations, the unruly **** deserves jail time.

I see what some reviewers have said about the performance of the G7. There is this slight delay. Not sure if it's how the animations were scaled, but I can see it. Whi h is weird be a use I have seen G series phone fly - the G5 I lusted after at one point actually was a great performer in terms of speed that year. It's not a deal breaker for me, but I can see where people would start yammering about Pixel /Oneplus performance being smoother.

See, I'd rather watch something like that to see how much work is being done from a professional point of view.

My sister and I, along with my colleagues and I often talk about the various disciplines that work in the general field of self help. The one think I like with the discipline I'm trained in is its versatility. I also get to comfortably say what the limitations are.

The trouble, as you know well enough, is when to apply what school of thought to what situation. Using a theological approach for someone who is actively psychotic isn't something I'd recommend. Using talk therapy for someone who isn't ready to work isn't something I would recommend either.

Unfortunately, some folks believe lieve that one approach is the only way to get help, no matter what discipline one is trained in.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I use GBoard as well but I do miss Windows Keyboard. I make loads of mistakes on GBoard, mostly due to my poor ability to swipe slowly.

I was able to swipe quickly in WP and the mistakes were minimal. Wish they'd bring it the keyboard for Android. Preferably the same quality.
The WP keyboard was the best I've used, with the BB keyboard a close second. You won't see that on Android as msft owns SwiftKey and doesn't want to double dip.

I wish they would though. My SwiftKey experience so far as been OK, but I need to find something I want to pin down more securely to use.

OnePlus is slightly better than the Pixel because moar RAM. At least that's what the crazy power users say.

OK, I've channeled enough of my inner Sahib. Which reminds me of how this thread was when I first started posting here.

I had to do that with the little phones and probably will have to do that with the Pixel 3. The bigger battery devices last all day without any battery anxiety.

Since I don't have a Oneplus, I can only compare the Mix 2 and G7+. The Mix 2 feels faster, even though both have relatively heavy skins, and 6GB RAM. You'd think the SD845 in the G7 would run faster but it feels a little more sluggish than the SD835 in the Mix 2.

Everyone optimizes differently. I don't think Google has been doing the best job of RAM management recently (another way they may have been following Apple in a few ways).

I kinda like the leaner setup though. Outside of music, I do my most heavy media consumption on the tablet anyways.

At this point, my favourite keyboard is Gboard.
