I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner. Not necessarily in China but in other places as well.
Short updates:
1) Just set up the shield tv. It's nice. We will see how Sling runs on this thing.
2) The Nokia 8 I picked up as a spare is so...bland. It works, but that's about it. I'm glad I paid $200 new for it and waited it out. It's not a bad device, but it's more plain than the G7+.
I've been running around all over the place and haven't had a chance to just enjoy things. The weekend is here and yet I don't feel as excited...
You think there's fragmentation now, wait until that takes effect.I wondering when we'll have to start paying for software updates on a subscription. To me it's bound to happen. Of course I'd expect exceptional service if I did pay for it.
Not surprised.
Not surprised.
Sony was always just another OEM to everyone else but Sony's management.True point but in my opinion, that's what made Sony different. Otherwise, they are just like most of the OEMs.
Only having 2 years of update support is simply not good enough. The hardware for phones isn't going to get extremely better. The only reason why updates aren't happening for some phones now is simply due cost. Nothing else. You think there's fragmentation now, wait until that takes effect.
Will be interesting to see if they actually fixed the camera...Sony was always just another OEM to everyone else but Sony's management.
They turned the corner with the XZ2's camera. I really liked it, even though Sony shies away from OIS as much as DJT shoes away from listening to sound advice. Will be interesting to see if they actually fixed the camera...
I think they shy away from because they don't want humps in their design or make the phones too thick. They turned the corner with the XZ2's camera. I really liked it, even though Sony shies away from OIS as much as DJT shoes away from listening to sound advice.
With the push to 18:9 and even 19:9 displays there's no way to make a compact version.
That's crap. They can find a way if they want to. That XZ2 was chunky in the middle with no reason. If they could do that, they could add OIS.I think they shy away from because they don't want humps in their design or make the phones too thick.
A 5.5" in 18:9 in a 5.0" 16:9 chassis is the modern compact, which Google has done, so it is doable. With the push to 18:9 and even 19:9 displays there's no way to make a compact version.
I haven't really followed their latest phones much so no idea what they've done. That's crap. They can find a way if they want to. That XZ2 was chunky in the middle with no reason. If they could do that, they could add OIS.
