WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Ugh this sounds frustrating to deal with. I'm with you, I don't get why it seems hard for one wearable to do it all, but imo, it doesn't sound like you are asking for much here. At least so much that it can't be done anyway, that is.
Everything is like this now. Outlier life is a pain in the White House sized cluster****.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Not sure if my phone is acting up or what but it's working now.

Good article. I'm not a football fan personally but I know that black players have had racism directed at them for decades. Even from opposing teams.

Stereotyping in media... Who knew... /Sarcasm

The UK rags are pretty vicious if you didn't know.

Racism is a big issue in Europe in general. Has been for some time. Been sort of repressed but has been let loose due to the rise of the right and the politically incorrect crowd.

The UK has become quite hostile to 'outsiders' in general. You won't hear it much in the media though. Barely a peep.

Sadly France is no bastion of acceptance either. Not even in Paris.

Those thinking Canada is good I can tell you that there's a lot that doesn't get out in the media. I haven't kept up with Canadian politics or mood in general but I wouldn't be surprised of a political change in the wrong direction.

We're in crap times. The world is a mess.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So I went looking for the 9 today. Didn't see one (no surprise). I did see the new Xperia 10+.

Heh, I'm not a fan of the design. Felt like I was holding a yardstick (shout out to those who know what this is) in my hand. I'm curious to see what the X 1 looks like, but I'm not buying that if the in hand feel is similar to the X 10+.

Can I say again how much I really like the in hand feel of the XZ3?

LOL at yardstick. That sounds terrible. I do hope that the 9 will appear sooner or later for you to check out.

I recall that you mentioned liking the feel of the XZ3...

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

It was refreshing (a break from Android and iOS is always welcomed) and sad (always had a soft spot for WP) and annoying (SD810 killed a ton of phones that year) at the same time.

Battery life was the same on the XL as my G7+. Heh, not a good look, LG.

Oh wow, I didn't expect for battery life to be the same. That's disappointing.

As for your mix of feelings with it, I can picture all of this easily.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Livin’ la vida fruta . I’m at a crossroads of sorts with smartwatches and iPhones. My Fitbit Ionic is my personal favorite mostly because of the one stop shopping with the app - but it doesn’t take phone calls or answer texts. It also doesn’t support my Qardio blood pressure monitor. The Gear S3 does everything but has no mobile payment available with the Frooty Pebbles phone. Lastly, the Apple Watch kills notification sounds on the phone and is a c*********k with the apps needed. Why there isn’t a single do-all app like Fitbit is beyond me.
I feel your pain. I'm interested in some new gear and the compromises are such an annoyance.

Things got interesting here in Europe with the UK parliament voting down the deal again

The reality of a no deal situation is becoming more real.

What a mess.

It's an incredible train wreck about to happen. All I can think of is how this is going to screw the really poor there.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Juice and OBJ together again, s**t just got real.
Mayfield is very solid. I remember watching both those guys at LSU and they were dynamic. That should be a ton of fun.

I get why the Giants did it, and as much as I like Eli, they should have let him walk.

That's part of the problem. The poor don't think it can get any worse. To some they believe it will get better, eventually.

The referendum brought out people from the poorest areas to vote, most voted to leave because they believed that the UK was sending too much money to the EU and that the government was not concentrating on the UK enough. They believe migrants are taking jobs and stagnating wages. They also believe the EU was telling them what to do and what laws to follow.

All this is of course false.

That's the problem with briefs, focused news and lack of understanding of the EU.

But here we are 16 days to Brexit and they haven't changed their minds because they believe it's all going to be fine.

I don't know how you combat this level of ignorance.

I'm sure they'll love it when the US trade deal brings in the US style of medical insurance....

Not to mention the tight end they drafted from The U last year David Njoku. He’s Gronk with hops.

Boeing 737 Max 8. Interesting to read how everyone else is grounding the planes worldwide. But one call from Boeing CEO to Donald Trump and the FAA refuses to do anything. Man this dude is ruining the reputation of the country and it's vaunted agencies around the world. It bugs me a bit more since I do so much flying.

As much as I despise 45, the FAA is not reacting any differently than it has in the past. For example, in May of ‘79 when that DC-10 lost its engine outside of O’Hare in Chicago, the FAA didn’t ground the fleet of DC-10s until it knew for sure that the pylon rivets were defective. Same thing with the wiring inside B747 wing tanks that “supposedly” brought down TWA 800. No rush to ground 747s then either. If it’s a software glitch that forces the nose down attitude without the pilot’s knowledge then a simple NOTAM (Notice To Airmen) is issued with a corrective action.

Panic and hysteria among fliers is more dangerous to flight crews than any faulty engine so the agency must weigh that.

I am not panicking, I fly all the time. But FAA is definitely dragging it's feet.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I didn’t imply you were panicking, it was a generalization. As for the aircraft, an airworthiness certificate doesn’t get lifted due to software unless the fly-by-wire systems are affected. This situation is reminiscent of autopilot glitches many years ago that defaulted to fail-open, for lack of a better term, that required manual deactivation by the cockpit crew to eliminate accidental disengagement. It’s damned if you do and damned if you don’t sometimes.
