WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

That's the problem. By the time they introduced the first Key device, many of the old timers like me were using touchscreen devices for enough time that moving to PKB seemed like a step back, rather than forward.
For me the spoiler was predictive text especially Windows' version of it. The BB vkb for Android is a hoot because you get more choices all over the keyboard. For a painfully slow typist like me, it levels the playing field a little.

Outside of Crackberry I don't think anyone knew what a Key2 was, much less was clamouring for a Key3. I've never seen any BlackBerry device since the Classic in real life.
I did see two silver Key 2's in the wild not too long after launch. Then again, I live in the NYC area and see all sorts of devices in the wild. I really wanted a Key 2, but they're like the HTC U12+, a bit too niche and overpriced for their own good at this point.

The two killer features WP had were the live tiles and that keyboard. Utter brilliance there on both fronts.

I keep getting people asking me about the Corona virus. I keep wanting to refer them to Hannity's exclusive interview yesterday during the Superbowl pre game show. Didn't that guy Hannity interviewed stated we knocked the virus out and offered help to China? As I was watching it I almost wondered why it was on, but then I remembered what channel I was on. Seemed like that guy wanted to gloat but was waiting for another moment to do so. Also seemed like a semi debate prep as he used some old talking points, with the "lookout how well I'm doing for Brown folks" and trotting out the nicknames for the Democratic candidates...

They brought back physical keyboard for the old folks like me and the older baby boomers. It was always niche, but it would still work depending on how well the hardware meshed with the software. I still think it was a smart move to kill it off if they weren't going to really renew it.

This is a fair point. Not renewing it is sad but I guess that's better than a half attempt.

Last flight within India. It's been a very hectic trip but got to meet some old friends yesterday. Three of us got together after 30 years!

That sounds like a lot of fun to reconnect with your friends after all those years. I hope your friends are doing well and that you have a safe trip back.

I listen to a podcast called Science Vs.

They just did a small episode on the corona virus. Was very interesting.

As for believing anything on that horrid TV channel or what comes out of the mouths on there. SMH

One day these people are going to cause a catastrophe and take zero responsibility for it.

I actually like Fox - their sports arm is awesome! The news arm is where what they're selling isn't for me. Wherever and whenever they have on "that incumbent", it's just a massive ego stroking sausage fest.

I think the most fascinating part of the Corona virus outbreak is watching how Xi's government has handled the whole thing. None of it has been a good look, to be honest.

That is an excellent analysis.

I feel that unfortunately many options that people like have disappeared, even amongst many brands still available. For example, headphone jacks, removable batteries, LED lights, SD card slots have disappeared even on the popular brand devices.

He is spot on that consumers need more variety, not less.
It'll be harder to get more variety in the high end market as Juan rightfully said, these gadgets are more commodities than true elements that move the need forward. It's why the choice for me to find an upgrade from the V40 has been so much of a pain. I understand that I have more specialty needs, which will cause me to put up with a few more shortcomings.

It's just now gotten to a point where spending money in the high end market doesn't make sense.

IR Blaster anyone? Had them on my 2 non-Lumia superphones - One M8 and Ativ SE.

So, I guess you could say we're officially in our place now.

We have all our stuff out of storage. Not unpacked...

Probably be another week at least for that.
