From now on until further notice we will no longer be using the Post Pilot to ban members that are infraction banned. The PP will only be used for pure spam removal and prevention. There is much happening behind the seen. This move is being done in large part because people banned via the PP are not notified as to why they were banned.

This also means that we are no longer tied to the other teams by the PP. We will no longer be answering any questions about bans from this forum queried by the members of the other teams. This team will only answer to James.

I appreciate everything you all do I have always believed that the teams activities as moderators should be supported 100%. No person on my team is out there banning people for no good reason. These people that are getting themselves in trouble have agendas. When they break the rules they get banned. I would rather loose 1,000 agenda minded rule breakers than upset one member of this team. I have also always believed that for every agenda minded rule breaker in the forum there are 10 good people that won't register or post because they are pushed away from the conversation by the content generated. We cannot win the membership of people wanting to post if they are scare that someone might attack them for posting their opinion. This is not the way the nations are being handled.

I ask that everyone on this team refrain from discussing forum business with members of the other nations forum teams. If anyone other than James or myself questions you about a ban initiated on WPC please refer them to me for discussion.

So no more passport bans?

Only if it is a pure spammer.

I realize that this means the Nations no longer support each other. I also realize that banned members will go to other nations to complain about bans that is why we will not answer questions asked by the other nations teams. I also expect you all to refrain from questioning the other teams should a member come here to complain. If you see a thread posted here just close it and move on.

The rules aren't changing because of something we did, is it?

No there is no direct relation between the rule change and anything done by this team. I will say there is a big difference in philosophy about how things should be handled. I will not allow any member of this team to be integrated because of actions taken.

I think it all depends on a member. Some have an agenda to be disruptive trolls on every site, but others are just fanboys who like to stir up **** on other sites (for example Android ****** who trolls here). If the ****** just likes to troll on sites besides his regular site, then I could see why no passport ban. If that member is civil on AC, I don't care if he's allowed there but not here. But the ones that are just trolls in general are the problem.

Then again, who knows what will happen in the future if all sites end up dealing with these trolls with agendas everywhere? The rules might change again if "John Doe" is registered on all sites, starts **** on all sites, and gets banned by all sites eventually instead of just a one-stop passport ban.

Here is an example: I just banned a member with 4 posts. Two of those posts contained spam links. I put spam in the PP ban when I executed the ban. Now when someone see that I executed the ban he will know that this is a spammer no need for interrogation. Its that simple.

In a way this is a good thing for us we now have the right to operate our forum, within the rules and guidelines of the mobile nations, as we see fit. We will not be subject to review by the other nations teams.

I see the logic in that but I guess I had grand dreams that all the nations would support each other without question. I am realizing that is not something we are capable of doing. You are right Laura eventually these trolls will get banned from all the sites but how many potential members will we loose along the way. If the troll was pushed off the nations first go round on WPC how many members did we win on CB, iMore, and AC? That's an intangible number without hard numbers its difficult to get people to see what they are loosing.

I doubt if we'll ever get to the point when no site has trolling fanboys/fangirls that like to cause trouble on other sites when we even have people on our own site fighting about stupid crap like the size of a Windows Phone.

Can the other team leads still read this forum? Kind of defeats the purpose of not talking if they can.

Agreed.

Just use email and Skype if it is something we need to discuss in private.

Okay everybody I am off to bed. Continue the discussion I will address more questions and comments tomorrow.

Agreed.

I don't have Skype on my mobile device, since WP7.x won't allow use of Microsoft Account for Skype. I do have it on desktop/browser. I'm live:lak669

I'll get the mobile Skype once I upgrade to WP8.x next March.
