Ok, just now, I wasn't able to open forums.windowscentral.com, so I switched to Chrome and tried. Same thing - timeout. No page load. I kept hitting refresh and now everything seems to be working. I went back to IE and its working there too.

It seems to be intermittent unresponsiveness and not browser related.

I cant help but think its the ads. Right now I'm typing this and if I type too fast it skips letters. There's 4 video ads trying to play and a few others loading. I don't use adblock because I understand the blogs I like need to get paid, but ads cant get in the way of the experience.

If IE is causing you problems, you might want to rethink your code. This is a Windows blog. I don't have these problems on other sites in IE.

Thanks for the feedback. As Daniel noted above, improving IE performance is something we're working on!

There could be a bad ad in the bunch as well, which would explain the intermittent nature of the timeouts on your side.

Hi all.

The performance for me on IE Windows 8.1 is nice and very responsive.

However, the performance for me on IE and "Project Spartan" while using Windows 10 TP 10130 is not responsive. It is freezing before I can start scrolling on both browsers.

Not sure if this is a OS problem or a coding problem with the website but thought I would point it out as I dual boot. However, I use Windows 10 TP 90% of the time over 8.1

They might be waiting for official Windows 10. It's pretty hard to optimize a website for a beta OS.

Well I'm not sure if they changed something or what the case is but as of yesterday, the performance as increased ten fold on both IE and Project Spartan.

I don't have to wait for the ads to load and can scroll immediately.

I know...bumping an old thread. blah blah

I wanted to say that the other day, this site tried loading three video advertisements simultaneously. It made my Surface 3 basically die. I've never been to a website that has so many advertisements hinder the performance as much as Windows Central. It's twice fold as bad as the other partnered websites... lol

I just came to comment on it too. I have had to basically revert to a browser with AdBlock enabled to make the site even tolerable. Otherwise I use only the phone app.

The site needs to be cleaned up. The image sizes have no inconsistency, some images are so large that it crashed the WP app. That never happened ever before. They've also made the web version even worse by placing that block of article links between the story and the comments section.
