I talked to a guy at work today who is from Hartlepool, England. How far is that from you? It's always neat to meet someone from another country.

Hartlepool, that's in the 'other' country we don't like to mention scottcraft. (England) LOL ;)
Not a million miles away, but not too near either, 229 Miles from here.

Kilwinning, North Ayrshire, UK to Hartlepool, UK - Google Maps

Yes, always great hearing new accents. Well sometimes it is.

I cringe when i hear some Scottish accents on TV (there are many), dunno why. LOL

Thanks for your interest though scottcraft, good to ask these things now and again. :)

We don't look that far apart either, maybe pop in for a coffee this afternoon scottcraft!

2 sugars and milk and a Devil Dog or Twinkie will be the treat of the year.

I haven't had one of those since i last visited New York about 8 years ago, sigh. (Love those junky things) :)

I used to be much closer though - 80 miles to where I used to live in Edinburgh! Been down your way a few times as we had a friend's wedding in Ayr and have been to Largs to pop over to Cumbrae.

Can't remember the last time i was in Edinburgh.

It's a small world, right enough eh ?

Thanks for the link, we will check them out today. I find it amazing how people from the same country can sound so different. Even in Louisiana there is a variety of accents. You guys would probably get a kick out of a good Cajun accent. Those can be tough to understand.

Those are some impressive castles. What's the weather like over there in June and July?

Yes some nice ones scottcraft. :)

Well if it's anything like normal you can expect rain and more rain lol
Our summers seem to last about 2 weeks if you're lucky.

When those 2 weeks will be, you can never predict. We can have all the 4 seasons in 1 day here.

My son just turned five and we're saving for a trip to Disneyworld. Maybe after that we can save for a trip to the castles of Scotland.
