It's easy to root, but tough to devise or find an exploit that allows you to root the device. Easy for the consumer, tough for the original method developer.

Yup it's the norm for Android these days.
Cracking the bootloader takes a little time however.

It won't be too long before someone devises a googlified rom for it, effectively stripping off all ms services.
