it's funny when i wrote that "Aside from new devices" part, i was thinking about you! haha.

i think there will be phones launching, just didn't want to commit yet. in fact, i think a droid charge (and or nexus s) type of device is coming with the 4'3 screen from samsung.

For me the most important has always been messaging but after seeing Bing Vision in action that might be my new favorite. Also looking forward to multitasking and hope a cure for our live tile woes!

I really liked the Text translating feature on Bing Vision and also the minor things like how the keyboard will try to finish sentences.

Very excited to see all the features they are adding for enterprise. It's the tie in with Exchange/Outlook and other Office applications that make the device useful for us. Beyond that the support for Silverlight and the ability for me to deploy some of the applications that I've written for the enterprise directly to the phones will be awesome. We have been waiting for a good MS OS for phones and it looks like they may finally have it. Goodbye to RIM I hope!

All of the new integration in the People Hub is my favorite.

Bing Vision is pretty much Google Goggles with a slicker name. I think it's awesome.

All of the messaging integration into the people hub is really exciting, as well as the groups you can create. Can't wait for this fall so I can use all the new features.

This update feels like a huge leap compared to major updates of other OS's.. It's like going from iOS 2 to iOS 5 and we don't even know what that is. I can't even compare the jump in terms of android or webos because their first versions to current haven't changed as dramatically as this yet... It really could be windows phone 8! I would like to know if visual voicemail and custom ringtones were confirmed or denied or any info about them. I'm excited about unified email, messaging threading with other messengers.. Missed that from webos, and bing vision. Also like that I will finally get to check out augmented reality apps and get card like multitasking again .. Also missed from webos. This update is just so massive.

I'm already disappointed when I turned on my phone and didn't see a group in the main screen. I need this like this instant.

I would like to know if visual voicemail and custom ringtones were confirmed or denied or any info about them.

At MIX11 they said the custom ringtone API would be made available to developers, so no native support and probably won't be included in the list of 500 new features. It will be up to developers to decide how they approach this, paid ringtones or a way for you to load your own. Btw, you already have a folder labeled, My Documents/My Ringtones. All you need to do is get your WMA or MP3 files into that folder so it should not be all that hard.

Yes, using TouchXplorer (dev unlocked). Currently I sync my unnamed ringtones via Zune which drops them into My Documents/Zune/Content (or something like that). Zune renames the file to something like 5ad3h, but they are easy to find as they are all 300-600kb vs. 4-8mb. Copy the files from the Zune folder to the My Ringtones folder, rename them, and they are available on your list of ringtones. Have about 10 right now.

The built in messenger services are definitely a big one.

Custom ringtone ability built in.

New Bing features.

New Email features - favs are linked inbox & threaded/conversation views

Skydrive & Office 365 integration

The API's released to dev's is a biggy to me. Now we will see all the apps we've been missing (3rd party IM/Messenger programs, Augmented reality, a good Google Voice app, true 3rd party notifications ect).

Multitasking / tombstoning

Those are my favorites, but I welcome them all. I am still hopeful for smart dialing though. I really do miss that.

Unified email, thread text, ie9, New Xbox tile, the new powerful apps and tiles, crazy new bing search, they seriously are eliminating the need for some third party apps and integrated them into the os pure genius in my eyes won't need yelp shop savvy etc. Not to mention in some of the videos the phones were fasttt im excited I would've wished for a earlier release date and how carrier will come about it but im content with my 500 features that are coming and honestly if they dont have custom ringers that would be lamee.
