Last summer I got my first smartphone and decided to go with the Windows Phone. That gets a few looks.

This month I had to buy a car. What did I get? Again, I went out on a limb and went with the oddball choice:

I love driving my Fiat 500. I highly recommend it.

The Fiat is a really cool looking car. I like it.

I have always felt like my personal tastes are counter to popular opinion. That said, that fiat has a face only its mama coud love!

Don't be saying bad things about my Celia. I've grown accustomed to her face.

I know it doesn't agree with the current definition of automotive beauty, but it is kind of a classic style. I love the car overall (I mean really love it, like no car I've ever owned, except for my ol' '72 Dodge Dart that I sold years ago), and its "face" is just part of the total package. The front seats are surprisingly roomy (I'm 6'-2" and have plenty of head and leg room.)

It's a great little car, but so different from the norm in the U.S. that people don't know what to make of it. But if you need a personal car that doesn't have to carry too much, it fits the bill and is a lot of fun.

You know, when I showed somebody my windows phone, the first thing he said to me is "what, are you in a support group for that?" I was on the floor laughing, but I do like wp because its different, I also have a 1520 and let me tell you, I've never ever had as many people have a reaction to a phone as much as that phone...I pull it out and people eyes bulge out of their sockets and their like is that a tablet? Its way to big to be a phone...how do you use it...? and the other half will get phone envy because its so big and the red color really makes it stand out.

We don't. We think there will be nothing left of that car if it gets hit. Its an odd choice for a guy. The other day I saw a lawyer get out of one. The guy had an average build. It's one of those things where it looks better for a larger / fatter man to drive a large car.

I really like how the Fiat looks.

I've just heard too many horror stories in terms of quality and reliability.

So take care of her, and be aware she may be a little "high maintenance."

The upside to the Fiat 500 and other Micro cars like it is you don't need to worry about buying a coffin.

I'm 6-2, 200, and there's plenty of room for me. I've never been a big car guy. And I could care less what other people think I look like getting out of my car.
