Which programs are "stuck" in the WP8-OS, and whick ones can you uninstall? How small can you make the OS?

I believe its already small, you don't wan't to paralyze it by removing core apps and things right?

You may remove Nokia Maps, Drive, Here Lens & HTC News (depending on manufacturer), but technically they aren't OS apps, they are addons to the OS.

You can uninstall everything on your phone except system apps, which are:
  • Alarms
  • Calculator
  • Calendar
  • Camera
  • Games
  • Help+Tips
  • Internet Explorer
  • Maps
  • Messaging
  • Music+Videos
  • Office
  • Hotmail/Outlook
  • People
  • Phone
  • Photos
  • Settings
  • Store
  • Wallet

As you can see there's way less bloatware compared to other operating systems.
The system itself is holding 1.95 GB of storage, system apps included.

Bloatware is ddefinitely less, but still the size of OS is really big.

you have to remember that part of space is taken up for the OS Install/ROM itself. For when you have to hard reset the phone, if you did not have that you would not have anything to restore from directly on the phone itself. And you would have to plug the phone into the PC to get it. 1.9gb is standard size for all WP8 OS no matter what phone you have.

I would really like to be able to uninstall games. I just never play games on pc, phone, anything... Oh well, it's still better than my #%*#*-droid htc. It is stuffed to the brink with crap I can't uninstall.
There was always a huge KB on how to slim down Windows, maybe someone could start a thread about how to do it on WP?

You can uninstall games, open games tap and hold the game you wish to remove and it should be gone.

I think Seb is talking about the Games hub itself, not the actual games.

In that case you cannot uninstall, however you may put your phone date as year 2150, try to open Games hub and it may give you an option to uninstall, I wouldn't do that if I were you.
