What could be reason behind notifications are not working on my lumia 920?

Hi,
I am using Nokia lumia 920 since last 5-6 months.
From past few days i am facing problem that any of app such as whats app, Gmail, facebook are not showing notifications.
I need to open app and manually need to update my whats app or need to sync my mails on gmail account.

I had recently connected my phone to laptop having virus
I am having too many apps and games

Can above mentioned things can cause issues.
Please let me know what could be probable reason for this issue.

Hi,

No virus should effect your phone as WP is pretty secure against that. Having too many apps or games shouldn't effect it.

I wish I could provide a reason as to why things go wrong with WP but then I would be a genius and hopefully making more money than I am now.

If you haven't already tried this, do a soft reset on the phone and see if that helps. Soft reset -> hold volume down and power together until phone vibrates. Phone will restart. You may have to adjust time and date. No files are erased with this procedure.

If the above doesn't work you can try a hard reset. Be aware that this erases everything on the phone and you cannot backup game data unless the app has that feature. Be sure to backup prior to doing this regardless.

Hard reset -> Settings -> About -> Reset phone

It's not all that painful unless you're a hardcore gamer.
