January 21st is just around the corner, so the real question is what do we, Microsoft community, want to see there.

Windows 10
Cortana on the desktop
Playing Xbox One/360 games on the PC
New Spartan web browser
Improved Windows Store design
Improved apps design
Implemented Continuum and track pad gestures
Improved Action Center and Snap Assist UI and Multiple Desktop UI
A new Surface announced
Windows 10 for Mobile
Improved Live Tiles UI
Horizontal display
Improved Action Center
Group settings
Software and Firmware updates by Microsoft and not from carriers
A new Lumia announced
Xbox
Dashboard UI Improvement
VR announcement
New games announced
Office
Office for Windows Phone announcement
Office 16 for desktop announcement
Copy/Paste HTML to Office from a website

What do you want from Microsoft during this press conference? Put the answer in your posts.

OneDrive

Family Shared folders - upload images from many Phones or Tablets and all Family devices can see them on PC, XBox etc.

I really really doubt any new hardware will be announced
The speakers for the event are all from the software side of MS and none from the devices division

And how many other "21st January" threads are going to appear as the commentards mutter, moan and whinge about what may and what may not be announced.

*Yawn*

Whatever they do they need to find something to ADD some excitement to their offerings. Something, hell anything. Its like funeral at Microsoft. Maybe they should bring Mr. B back. At least he raised hell. LOL

How about they actually stop sitting on their hands, stop yapping and actually release this supposed holy grail of operating systems? Too much talk while the competition solidifies their position (with the help of Microsoft themselves, the irony) while the Windows platform declines.

Microsoft should change the app design guidelines and make the UI more similar to Android. For example, Facebook, OneDrive and the Health app are using UI elements more commonly seen in the other platforms, breaking with the traditional WP UI guidelines.

The fact that WP's UI is so different increase the cost of porting apps from other platforms. Adding new UI element that are equivalent to Android's UI elements would make it very easy. Maybe even an automatic converter could transform an Android UI to the equivalent WP code.

If Universal apps fail, the only option would be adding support for Android apps, this change would help with that transition.

Actually. The OneDrive app on Windows Phone shows what the future of the Metro UI is. The look is pretty similar to Windows 10 UI guidelines

for Lumia 1040, use dual CPU because of 8K recording, Snapdragon 805 used for normal usage, Snapdragon 800 for image processing when recording
*if camera is more than 30MP, it will use dual CPU like 1040
