What do you think Microsoft should do from this point onwards?

Xbox music, etc. aren't part of the OS anymore, just apps with their own life cycle.

What feature gap? The OS is excellent, the problems aren't in the OS.

Developers will never have full control, that would create an awful system. What limitation is causing you problems?

1) You mean to tell me core OS is without proper media apps and it is okay? What year is this? 1914?

That goes for your second argument too. And although, OS is quite excellent, apart from the fact that MS can't even seem to make gaming hub, calendar, lock screen apps right, there is still a lot of room for improvement.

3) One example would be limitations on internet browsers. If they don't want to use webkit standards, fine. But at least let other 3rd party developers port webkit based browsers over to windows phone.
Also, there is an issue of app quality. Either developers are lazy or they don't have enough APIs to make quality, functional apps/games. I'm more inclined towards later.

And don't pretend that the OS is perfect. Because it is far from it or we wouldn't be here.

Xbox Music, etc. don't depend on the OS updates, these apps have their own life cycle, they're update almost every week. So, Threshold is irrelevant in the quality of these apps. With a solid OS MS can use more resources in core apps and in designing disrupting features, hopefully.

Actually, with update 1 they're supporting non-standard html5 in IE to improve compatibility with webkit.

I think It's impossible to build a decent browser with the limitations that third party apps have. And MS can trust the security of the device to third parties, they can't give special access to critical APIs to Google or Mozilla.

The issue of app quality is just developers prioritizing the platforms in which they make more money.

WP is perfect for me, I'm really happy with the OS.. but without Candy Crush by 2015 I'm going Android or iOS.

Really? After all this defence of windows phone, you will leave the platform because of candy crush? A game, which, according to reports has lost its charisma and is not a money generator for developer anymore.
Wonderful.

Please tell me you're joking xD
So,WP is perfect for you but you'd leave it for candy crush that'll probably be dead by 2015? XD
Idk if you're serious or just making a joke with these 2 contradicting statements

Invest more in better marketing, WP needs more exclusive killer apps or features not available on Android/ios, get more involved with this new age crowd (more promotions, giveaways, events) and make a killer WP9 that will blow away the competition, an advancement we've all been waiting for.

I think one of the big things i'd like to see is Onedrive music locker where I have all my music already and playable on any device.
They need to offer this and fix their horrible metadata mess like yesterday.
Offer unparalleled unification on all platforms, ( what we're expecting with 9) and consistency in the UI.

Fix that and offer a breakthrough high-spec phone fingerprint id, 1080 or higher res, sd card, and 41+ megapixels without a huge wart. They will come.

Oh, and make sure it's not a brick and pointy on the edges.

I love WP, live tiles and metro, but I need a couple of apps that aren't in the platform.

MS should support the Amazon app store, that would solve my problems and finally I could play Candy Crush in WP.
Life would be perfect. I would name my first son "Microsoft".

Yeah, i'm the same way. I have to use android in my car because I have to use a rader detector app not available on WP. But, I use it only in the car as a dedicated device for my head unit that stays in the glove box and I can still use my WP for hands free calling with Cortana as my primary phone.

MS should just focus on software (Apps) and provide high quality Apps on other OS. Wait, I think they are already doing that.............!
