What does swiping the notification do?

Okay, so in Android, if you swipe a notification away, it will come back in some time to remind you, meaning it doesn't mark it as read. I was wondering how WP8.1 handles this. If you swipe a notification, is it marked as read and the live tiles get cleared or is it like Android?

I hope this question can be answered through emulator/SDK...

If you swipe it away - it goes away as a toast and then stays on the tile if tile collects them. With action centre, it stays in action centre till you clear it. It doesn't "toast again". To clear live tiles and action centre, you have to hit "clear" or "clear all" in drop down.

So if a notification is cleared in action center it will still stay in the live tile, correct?
