Another poster here ("poopyfinger") has found that the 950 was shipped with at least 2 different firmware builds. It appears that the phones with the later build are significantly more stable - like mine that I have no issues with.

Can a firmware update fix the issues that people are having with the 950 series?

What firmware are you on and are you having problems?

My AT&T Lumia 950 has firmware 15454.29031

It is pretty stable in terms of app crashes, freezes and/or reboots. It's been 3 days and I haven't gotten any of those.

However, I do have other bugs such as the mild battery drain on standby (2-3% per hours) and heavy drain and heat when using Tubecast for example. Also, I have the brightness bug where automatic doesn't go all the way down to 0% at night. Also, when I set it to manual the phone freezes for several seconds when switching among the different brightness settings using the Quick Actions.

Bought my 950 from AT&T on day one. It has firmware 15454.29031. No real issues. Had a problem with some resets, but when I turned off the iris scanner those went away. No problems at all now.

So weird that my AT&T 950, also day one, has a slightly different firmware. I've never fl followed firmwares so I don't know how normal/abnormal this is.

I doubt I'll get a response, but I'll tweet Gabe Aul about it. Maybe we'll get an explanation.

AT&T 950, 15454.29031 ... Same issues as listed above with brightness. Other issues of course, but these might be OS- or app-based. Word flow is terrible. Music playback controls take a few seconds to trigger. Bluetooth issues. I could go on. I hope AT&T doesn't hold up this firmware very long.

Well, no response from Gabe Aul but I don't think he's the one I should have tweeted anyway. Maybe someone will figure out what's up with all these different firmware builds.
