What size thumb drive for recovery backup?

Hi, guys, I don't have my Surface Pro yet. Can you tell me what size of a thumb drive I need to order to back up the recovery partition (and remove from the tablet)?

You need atleast an 8gb usb drive. Found a spare one for me underneath my bed hah

I just put mine on a 8GB usb stick so that should be all you need. MS says 8GB as well in the docs.

wouldnt you need to get a thumb drive larger than 8gb, since the post-formatted capacity is less?

Nope, it doesn't actually need 8GB... Just a 8GB drive to backup to ->

Got a usb 3.0 8GB. Works great and backed it up really fast.

Is a 8GB thumb drive needed for the recovery partition or can a 8GB micro SD card be used instead?
