What would YOU do if this happened to you?

When the Surface Pro 3 was released in Sweden, I bought the i7, 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD. And like all you know, its a very expensive device. My first unit had light bleeding, there was I gap between the display and the LCD so light would bleed in. I sent it in and MS replaced it with one that had bigger light bleeding. I sent in that one as well and got one that had little light bleeding. I accepted it and started to use the device. After a couple of months I noticed that there were a problem with the USB port. So like the first two, I sent in that one and had it replaced. I got a FOURTH SP3 and the screen on that one was loose because a repair guy at Microsoft had used a screwdriver to change the display and left a dent in the magnesium chassis which lead to a loose display. I called Microsoft and told them that this was unacceptable, she told me that the only thing they can do is to replace it again. I sent it in a couple of days ago and the "new" one is on the way. What should I do if there is a problem with this one as well?

Keep calm and keep sending it back.

The number of replacements needed is unacceptable, but MS is also paying a price each time. Inserting a significant amount of salt into your return notes (while remaining polite) may be helpful.

Haha my surface is more on the road than at my place. I think I will get my fifth tomorrow. I'm just afraid that it will also have some sort of problem. Can I demand my money back or ask them to replace it with the new SP4?

You should express your concern that the quality of repaired units is not acceptable and request a factory new unit or a full refund this time. A repaired unit is not acceptable to you after four previous attempts.

That's exactly what I told the support lady so I really hope they give me a new one this time. I even left a message to the lazy repair men of the surface support in Germany. I left this picture as a background on the surface. I hope I got their attention.

But as a costumer, what can I do if the fifth also have problem?

Welcome to MS, where mediocrity is now the acceptable standard.

I've had 3 different SP3 replacements for some of the reasons you stated and with the latest "fix" or update, my wifi is now broken..I have to restart my SP3 every time to get wifi to work (when waking up). It's always something new, 16 months after this was released. Done with MS...ordering iPad Pro when it is available and I am NOT an Apple person but I need something that works.

When this does work, when OneNote doesn't crash, when my wifi works, when the machine doesn't overheat, when the pen doesn't just stop working randomly, it's a great device. That's about 25% of the time.

But an iPad Pro could never work for me because I'm an engineer student and need the programs. I rather stick to my five times replaced sp3 than buy a big 12.9 inch ios machine :)

Ask for a new one or ask them to replace sp3 with sp4
