We know not all models are affected, 920 and 925 are fine for instance.

You just saying you don't have that issue implies the beta fixed it so to be fair that's not helping. We need someone in the beta that uses a 720, 1020, 1520, 8X as these are affected for sure.

Is it me, or is whatsapp keeping wifi enabled when locking the screen? In Dutch forums a lot of people are reporting this issue.

I think with wp8.1 the wifi is always active not like wp8.0 where you can choose what you want... But I'm nit sure maybe anyone correct this if it is false

Why will anyone want wifi to be off when phone is locked? Its better it stays on so that you wont miss any message. Or for checking any new message you'll have to unlock your phone again and again.
