WhatsApp still causes speaker hiss?

Here we are in 2016, this was supposedly a known issue at least two years ago, supposedly because the app wasn't optimized for Windows Phone 8 or 8.1. Daniel Rubino, or anyone... How can we get some info from Facebook on when this will be fixed? Not so much that the noise is terribly loud, but it does seem to indicate battery life and other optimizations can be made if that loose end was closed.

Anyone have any relatively recent info on this issue?
