WP 7.8 was just a UI change, at core it was still 7, Windows 10 Mobile will be available to every single Lumias & Non-Lumias running 8.1 , not all FEATURES will be available because of hardware limitations but OS will be 10.

That's the thing...it probably won't be available on every single Lumia. Just look at the regression of promises by Microsoft. At first they boldly claimed to get Windows 10 Mobile on every single Windows Phone running Windows Phone 8.1, which was massively impressive. Then they stepped down a notch and promised that the goal was to get Windows 10 Mobile on MOST Windows Phone 8.1 devices. Then they admitted that your phone requires Lumia Denim in order to be guaranteed for Windows 10 Mobile.

Some things are better than WP8.1, but others have slipped, I would suggest they do a lot more spit and polish before finalising, and as a minimum, ensure all features that were in 8.1 are still supported in W10M for me this means being able to search, SMS, and Calendar appointments, also fixing the mail client so that it renders messages better and handles emails that have been forwarded to me with attachments, from Outlook Exchange clients that are then collected via imap from gmail. Currently the attachment is omitted, this is also true of the desktop version of the mail client too, the old win 8.1 and wp8.1had no troubles with this..

I don't think that mobile payments or lack thereof going to be a deal breaker for the entire base. I know it's something that would be nice to have working but the lack of it so far hasn't bothered me. Chill a bit more

I would appreciate a new build much. Tonight I am reverting my 1020 back to 8.1 after a month of build 10166 as my daily driver. It worked really good but after this strange "developer enhancements" update last week it got really unstable and battery life is really bad. Got to restart twice today already and have only 53% battery after 2 hours.

I think this thread has served it's purpose.

We know the next W10M preview will be based off a newer branch than 10240. On the 4th of August Gabe Aul tweeted it will take a few more days, so we're likely looking at sometime next week during the second week of August.
