So, today my Lumia 625 didn't recognize the sim card (wich has been working perfectly for the past month).
I turned the phone off, removed the card and put it in again and it worked.
BUT now, the phone tells me that my SD card may be damaged (and it was working perfectly about 2 minutes ago) and asks me to do a scan.
the said scan lasts for an hour, and when it is done, all my music and pictures have disapeared. everything else that was on the SD card remained (files, apps...)
oh yeah, yesterday I updated Nokia Camera, and Nokia Music
I'm really really really disapointed

Get your sd card out and place it in the card reader from your computer and use the computer to check on errors.
Maybe this can recover the data.

well, the phone scan says it is okay.
the computer scan says it is okay. but my photos and music are gone.
when I put my SD card in the computer and check the music folder, I find my album folders and the cover pictures but the mp3 files are gone.
same with the photos

The only explanation is that your SD card failed resulting in losing your data. What brand and class card is it and is it 1 month old?

What you could do is try to find a computer program which can "restore" lost data. And I would not use this card again. Because it is only 1 month old there still should be warranty on the card so change it.
If you also installed apps on the sd card than you can place the card back and move the apps to the internal memory so that you can move them back to your new card.
If you still want to use this sd card than you should format it before you use it again. Bye the way which class is it?

Sooooo, the album folders and cover pictures are there, but the mp3s are gone ?
Does that sound like a failed card ... nothing w/b there !

' ... oh yeah, yesterday I updated Nokia Camera, and Nokia Music ... ' I'd suspect these two apps (& the OP) had something to do with the disappearance ... or, they're actually there, but still indexing.

Reboot the phone, let it setup, it all may be there.

I updated the apps yesterday, and used the phone to listen to music and take pictures afterwards so they're already setup/indexed
if it was an indexing ussue, I would still find all my files in the pc, wich is not the case

don't blame the hardware for what the OS is miserably failing at -_-
