Where did 300 GB of my C drive storage go?

[Windows Central Question]

So about a week ago I went to check up on my hard drive in the disk properties and i noticed that i only had about 275gb out of 883gb free and I was really confused because recently, I moved about 370gb of stuff to an external hard drive and I already made sure I deleted everything from the previous location. Also, when I selected everything in the C drive and looked at the properties, I was only using 334gb in that drive . I already tried defragmenting and disk cleanup but nothing came up. Anyone know why this is the case? Thank you
