I need help finding the %AppData% folder on Windows 10 Technical Preview. It is super easy to find this on Windows 7 Ultimate, but no on windows 10. Can someone please help me.

Thanks so much David Feifer I have found appdata. I've looked everywhere except for there.

It has been in that location ever since Windows Vista afaik (at least since Windows 7)

On Windows 7 i just use "Run" to find %appdata%, but after finding appdata i just found the "Run" program. I wasn't thinking about typing run in the search bar and then typing %appdata% in the run program.

I'm closing this thread since it's really old.

As a final comment, I'll note that nobody has to search for %AppData%. Just type %AppData% into the address bar in Windows File Explorer and you'll automatically be taken too it, even if File Explorer is set to not show hidden folders. The address bar in Windows File Explorer will then also show you the entire path to the %AppData% folder.

If you don't know what the File Explorer address bar is, it's the UI element #4 in this graphic:
How to work with files and folders - Windows Help

Otherwise, using File Explorer to click your way to the %AppData% folder necessitates setting File Explorer to show hidden folders:

  1. In the File Explorer ribbon, switch to the "View" tab.
  2. In the "Show/Hide" group there is a "Hidden items" checkbox, which must be marked.
