Hi there, looking at getting a windows phone online because theyre so cheap and because I like them. For a while I had a Lumia 1020, but I dropped it and cracked the screen and its worth buying a new phone instead of getting the screen replaced. I was looking at getting either another 1020, a 930 or a 950. The 1020 and 930 are around $240AUD each and the 950 is around $315. Is it worth spending the extra $75 for the 950? I loved the camera on the 1020 and didn't really have any problems with it other than the fact that I couldn't post those amazing photos in full HD!
Thanks a heap!

I got new 950 XL for $279 on Amazon a month or two ago. Therefore, I would definitely go for 950 or 950 XL (even for additional $75).

Yes, definitely go with the 950. Neither the 1020 or 930 are officially supported on Creator's Update. The 950 should continue to get updates, at least through the end of this year.

950... It had it's heating problems in the past but recent updates got rid of that. Also that camera is beautiful

The 950 has the most capable hardware and is going to last you for a while more. Now that the prices went down it's an excellent choice if you're into Windows phones!

While I love my Windows Phone I am tired of so many Apps not being available for it and when my MS band failed and they recommended the Fitbit Blaze and when I got it and found out that it does not get notices (texts, e mail Etc) from Windows phones that kind of broke my loyalty to the Windows phone.
I just no longer have faith that phones are something that MS is committed to. I love Win 10 and I am really tied to Microsoft but I am disappointed that they try things like the band and the phone and then they do not seem to stay committed to them leaving those of us who went down that path out in the cold.
I am not getting rid of my Lumina yet but I feel behind the times with my Winnows phone and I probably will go to a Droid phone soon.

I consider myself an app junkie, but when it comes to my Lumia 640 or my Galaxy S7, I always end up choosing the 640 as my daily driver.

Sure the Galaxy S7 has tons more apps. I can pretty much find an app for anything on my S7. There are some definite advantages over the 640. But one phone cost me $40 the other was a insurance replacement for my Galaxy S5 so it actually only cost me $100 but normally it be around $700. The Galaxy S7 works bueatifully with one of my car phones with Pandora. It has a nicer camera that can shoot better pictures and video and has more cool features. It has any app I want.

The downside is that it heats up a lot of the time, the battery life sucks, the reception at my workplace is much worse than my 640. I can hardly use it at work.

The Lumia 640 has some advantages, in that I can receive my text messages in any car, where they are read to me and I have the option to respond back by voice. Its not a hassle to use and the battery life is really good. I can use my voice to send text messages and the Windows Mobile will add the question mark to my sentences automatically. The map program and camera features have improved a great deal in the last year. Actually some companies have added apps back that had pulled them a year ago. Bank of America, there are new games that were not there last year too.
Amazon added a new app after pulling its old one.

Ok, I'm a li'l perplexed & hopeful...
So my questions are;
~is there a diff between "Lumina" & "Lumia"?
~I Love my Win phone, sad that many apps I could use even just for my "Industry" are not avail for WP. Is MS coming back to Mobile or is WP dead? It's time for a new phone. What to do??

That dude is using some non-Microsoft product(android/iphone something). They don't have Lumia in their dictionaries/predictions. So, they auto-correct Lumia to Lumina most of the times. :P

If you're not emotionally attached to Microsoft or live tiles ( 😂😂); it's better to switch to other platform, wp don't have any future.

I just brought a 950, and with the latest updates I can recommend it. Haven't used any of the others, but I have heard many complaining of reboots and other software faults running win10m on win8/8.1 phones which I why I avoided them.

I actually got mine refurbished from aliexpress for 200USD. No issues with it reburbished, but it is a risk I suppose depending on who you deal with.

There's a lot of good cases etc with the 950 and you can also expand storage with latest updates, according to what I heard up to 200gb. (I might get a bigger than 64gb card at some point)

Great phone, with great features :)

Perfect phone to keep one going whilst MSFT is still working on Andromeda and surface phone quietly. Should get the big FCU update at least.
