I am new to windows and im having a hard time picking a surface tablet. I am a video gamer and really want a tablet that handles games very well. Any suggestions?

If your a gamer I would suggest the surface pro 2, and depending on your budget, go for the 256 or 512 models so you have the increased ram.

Lmbo!!!! Yes i am a gamer been playing xbox live since 2008. Thanks for your suggestion.

Honestly depends on what you have and its intended use. I don't recommend playing video games in tablets, as it's not as fun with a small screen. However, if you really want to play games on the tablet, go with the Surface 2 PRO. The Surface 2 is only for people in school or work who just needs to type, browse and check e-mails.

I haven't run into any of the Windows Store games that the Surface 2 can't handle. That being said, if you want to play x86 games, you'll want to get the Pro or Pro 2. A friend at work has the Pro and has been playing Elder Scrolls beta on it.

Also, you can get the dock and plug it in while your home and want a real keyboard/mouse and full size monitor.

It highly depends on the use case. If you can live without x86 desktop apps, which for the typical tablet user is most certainly the case, the surface 2 is in almost all instances the better choice. It is lighter, thinner, has only passive cooling and lasts longer.
Even from a gamers perspective the surface 2 can handle the touch optimized games in the store well. If we are talking desktop games, the surface pro 2 would only be a compromise, since any ultrabook with discrete graphics is better.
I guess that is the reason, that in between my ultrabook and my Surface 2 there is no space for a Surface Pro 2 since the Pro 2 is a bad compromise as tablet and a bad compromise as Ultrabook. It can replace neither very well.

This was my experience with an x86 W8 tablet. I sold it and am happy with my Surface. YMMV, of course.
