Which Windows Phone do you like the most?
Why for?
Did you miss anything on it? If yes, what and why?
Did you find anything frustrating on it (other than app gap)?

Asking because I might buy one of the used older devices to compare it to my 640 xl

your 640xl is already a good phone.

If you're looking for a better experience, then you'll have to look at the more expensive phones like 830 or 1520 or the new 950 ones since they have better specs and better camera

Actually, I do not intend to buy a phone to be my daily driver, just something that runs nice so I could eventually sometimes use it as my daily driver (some second hand windows phones like 830 are quite cheap in my country).

I really liked the 735 because the size and cameras together is really nice. I missed Glance though. I found it annoying that I felt like I had to be concerned about burn-in and that the white/light theme was a serious battery drainer. A bigger annoyance for me was that it wasn't so good in my area for its connectivity.

Q: Which Windows Phone do you like the most?

Lumia 1520.

Q: Why for?

CAMERA
Big, clear screen even in sunlight.
That battery, it just keeps going.
All the amenities: Qi, SoC, RAM, storage + SD, shoots DNG, camera button, form factor, color choice (I have yellow), sound, still highly relevant. This may be the best all-around Windows Phone ever produced and it came at the zenith of independent Nokia and Windows Phone

Q: Did you miss anything on it? If yes, what and why?

The camera could be better in low light situations. I really like taking pictures at twilight.

Q: Did you find anything frustrating on it (other than app gap)?

I had a touch of screen problems with phantom touch, etc. I gently straightened the phone and have been careful about how I pocket it since. That cleared it up. Not a frustration so much as an irritation.

Other phones I've thoroughly enjoyed for what they are, in order:
5. BLU Win HD LTE - it's got style and is a great budget alternative to Lumia.
4. Lumia 928 - it's feeling its age about now (more so than 1520), but good all-around and Xenon Flash is a nice experience
3. Lumia 640 - got mine for $30 US and it can't be beat for value at a low price.
2. Lumia 925 - I still miss the low light pictures this phone can produce. It was the best at one time and still worth a look. Looks nice too.
1. Lumia 830 - solid all-around. Dig the style on this one tremendously, especially with the different color backs that are easy to find and swap in. The camera will shoot with the big dogs, IMHO it gets overlooked when it shouldn't as the versatility of range with the camera is superb.

Which of the Windows phones you've owned has been your favorite?

Most of us on here have owned quite a few Windows phones over the years, but which one is your overall favorite device. For me it's a close call between the Lumia 925 and HTC 8x. I have and love my 950, but the design of both the 8x and L925 was very good, though the 925 was a bit slippery in the hand, unlike the rubbery feel of the 8x.

Anyway, what's your favorite and why?

Re: Which of the Windows phones you've owned has been your favorite?

Lumia 520/521
Size & Buttons (Camera button!)
Lumia 635
Build Quality/Strength
Lumia 640
Internals! Screen, processor, RAM, GPU, NFC, BT, LTE, microphones, flash, etc. Everything but the case and the size/buttons.

Give me a Lumia 520 size phone & physical camera button with Lumia 635 toughness and Lumia 640 specs/screen, and I'm freaking sold.

I think you are in my mind somewhere. What Saijin said pretty much! Indifferent about the camera button but the rest, totally.

I grew up using Samsung dumbphones with a dedicated camera button, so I'm a bit greedy on that. My favorite devices in the world (webOS) did not have camera buttons, but boy, did they ever make up for that with great QWERTY keyboards, inductive charging, and gesture areas. I figure I'd spare everyone my webOS phone ravings in this post, but I've failed. Really, give me a Pre3 formfactor with L640 internals, camera button, and a scaled-down 720p screen, and THAT is the perfect device.

Saijin, I hate to burst your bubble but it's widely known around these boards that I am the world's biggest webOS fan. If you have an issue with that let's just take it outside. Of course you know I'm only kidding (about the fight challenge) and your dream device is something I could definitely dig.

As for the thread itself, my favorite design will always be the Dell Venue Pro (imagine that, coming from a webOS fan) but The Lumia 1520 edges out the 950 XL simply based on design since the 950 series obviously has the innards.

Re: Which of the Windows phones you've owned has been your favorite?

Mine was probably my 1020, but has since been edged out, by my 950XL.
The camera response (start-up and focus) is just so insanely fast, and almost always gets the focus, even in low-light. Plus the screen, the awesome screen!
The RS update sort of sealed it, with the responsiveness improvements overall. The only downside is the battery life, while better, it's still not "awesome". But it wins still, hands-down, I could probably go on, but won't...

The 920. Actually thinking of going back to it. It had somehow settled into perfect battery life for my use and felt incredibly comfortable in the hand. I didn't worry about dropping it after the first dozen times (the screen always survived). And the curves...ahh. :)

Overall favorite: Lumia 925 (still have one and still use it). It's smooth operating, great camera and display. Very reliable/durable. Outstanding call quality. Easy one handed use.

Very close to it: HTC One M8. Love the quality of the sound from the front facing speakers (Cortana voice is rich and clear). Very fast and smooth. Great battery life. Very reliable/durable. Camera picture results are good. The camera is quite fun actually. Not as good overall compared to the 925.

My son still uses my 925, I loved that phone. I wish they had carried on using a similar design to the 925 on newer handsets.

928, it had everything, glance double tap pureview nice design, oled screen, qi charging, still cant even dream of another wp with xenon flash+led, its probably not going to repeat at this point, if i could put it inside the icon body with a faster soc like 820 and windows hello, i would never upgrade

btw thats just the hardware, wp8 and 8.1 made it so enjoyable to use that i found myself avoiding my pc at times

Re: Which of the Windows phones you've owned has been your favorite?

Samsung Focus Flash- 1st WP phone was amazed at the platform, saw some great things for the future. I still play some of my old WP7 games on it.

Lumia 520- having loved my FF but the honeymoon worn off at the time I was back on iOS with a 4 or 4s , I was sad that it would not receive WP8. I picked a 520 to try 8.0. Loved it it was so much device for 99$ off contract. I loved having different shells and colors to match my theme. Its now my alarm clock.

Lumia 920- I was back to WP in full force WP8 had convinced me on my 520. I loved looking at reviews and photos taken by the higher numbered Lumias. I picked up a 920. Blown away. The camera was so good for the time, the Nokia Camera app was great, the device while heavy was so fast and sleek and really stood out in the crowd.(Mine was red). I really enjoyed this phone. Loved the Qi. its currently running all my old delisted games great on 10586.494

Lumia 1020- I bought this phone because of the camera hype. I had mixed feeling about this phone, it was fast, but awkward to hold with the camera bump, the camera was really good, but slow. I didn't use this one for very long, now I just do still photography with it using the camera grip, its on 8.1 forever.

Lumia 635- Used this phone occasionally, was solid. I found it a little small and not having a flash kinda sucked. Gave it to the kids to play games.

Lumia 640- This is the phone that could. I paid 79.99 for it at Wal Mart when it first hit GoPhone. I really liked this phone, it was light the camera decent for a burner phone. It was fast. It had a SD. This phone was great and I still use it as I tried all the RS builds. Loved having different colored shells again.

Lumia 830- My most recent DD running 10586.494. Great phone, fast, good camera, SD slot, changeable backs. I am happy enough with this one to hold off on a 950.

So what was my favorite?

830 or 920 is toss up. The others are always apart of my device history I wont forget.

I always wanted to try a 900 and 925 or M8. Maybe someday.

I also used a Galaxy S2, Nexus 5, HTC One M7 and iPhone 4/5c/6 as well during my device journey.

Lumia 1520 is probably the best phone I have owned, along with the BB Torch 9800. Loved the screen size, speed, sound quality, camera, and screen quality. If the phone would have been able to support continuum, I would still be rocking that beast.

My poor old Lumia 925...

Re: Which of the Windows phones you've owned has been your favorite?

Out of my 920/1020/1520/950XL, I have to go with the 950XL.

920 had a great camera with OIS, but was pretty heavy
1020 had the amazing camera and Xenon flash, but was too slow
1520 had good camera and ridiculous battery life, but was a bit too big, heavy, and slippery
950XL has a great camera, is fast, and is lightweight. And the FFC is miles above that of the 1520

Now if MS would produce something like the 950XL, give it a more premier feel, a Xe flash, and better battery life that'd be great. If they could do it for under $500, it would be my next phone. Having a finished OS at launch would also be nice.
