Who still has unlimited data plan?

I still got unlimited data. I'm on Verizon and have the Nokia icon. Still grand fathered in !

I do too, along with my unlimited hotspot. And I've used 31gb in this billing cycle so far, but I'm on vacation, so I'm using it as I need it. And I love my guns too.

I'm under contract until November 2016, so it will not affect me for another year.

The "minor concession" is interesting! At the end of the day it is still no different than paying full price though. I doubt there will be a reduction in monthly price. With a 2 year contract you pay full price whether or not you're under contract, but you have the option of a subsidized phone. If you're on contract and upgrade every 2 years, it is pretty much the same as buying a phone with the installment plan.

It recently came to my attention that somehow, don't ask me how (you can verify on eBay) that some Vzw Unlimited grandfathered plan holders sell their plan on eBay for hundreds of $$$...

http://forums.windowscentral.com/verizon/340509-few-questions-about-going-verizon.html#post3078553 I personally would never pay an extra $500 to start getting overcharged each month, but hey, apparently some people do.

Food for thought if you do want to ditch your plan.

I would be tempted to do this for an AT&T account with unlimited data (maybe $100-300). I have seen both Verizon and AT&T accounts for sale. Some come with a phone (part of the contract) but, changing numbers can be a questionable thing (can you hold your current number when you take over the account ?).

I talked to an AT&T rep about this, YES it's possible to transfer an account to another user and if they had unlimited data, it will stay unlimited.

Of course that was a few months ago and it could change always...

My wife and I still have AT&T unlimited. I have done the.math, and we could save 20-50/month based on our usage. However... These grandfathered plans still offer subsidized phones. So an iPhone is $199. When you factor in the phone cost, since the new plans basically finance the full cost of the phone over a period of time, we really wouldn't save all that much if we switched. A $600 phone costs $25/month on new plans(over 2 years). On grandfathered plans that same $600 phone is $200. Over 2 years that's an average of $8/month. So its going to cost you an extra $17 /month in the cost of phones to give up your unlimited plan, assuming you get a higher end phone.

I was going to jump to AT&T years ago, when the Lumia's first hit and still could of gotten unlimited data with them. I hate the fact that I didn't, with the possible $20 extra on unlimited data, and no 2 year contracts any more. I feel screwed as a Verizon customer in more ways that 1...

Back then, everyone had unlimited data... where ever you went..

I still got unlimited data. I'm on Verizon and have the Nokia icon. Still grand fatherd in !

Same here (on the ICOn too). I use on average about 6gb a month but, can range between 3 and 12gb. I pay $24.90 (after corp discounts) for unlimited data.

This is where Verizon has me by the <you know what> as if I moved to a metered plan, the overages would cost me well over $40-50 a month. They want something like $100 for 10gb of data now days.

The main reason I love it, is I don't have to watch data EVER, If I want to spend the day on my phone watching YouTube videos, I do it. If I want to listen to a streaming radio station that I don't get on my 1 hour ride to work, I do it. I never look over how much my data usage is for the month and again, I never really think about it and my only limits are the battery life for the day. ONLY time I look at it is when the bill comes in, as I wonder how much I used in the past month.

People who have always been on a metered plan will never know what it's like to fully enjoy the internet when ever you want and how much of it you wanted on a phone.

Don't give me the "USE WI-FI" thing...4G LTE is faster than my Wi-Fi in my home, I have unlimited data, so I don't even need to switch on Wi-Fi ever....Unless I am updating/installing apps.

You really don't know what your missing...

I would move to a metered plan if I could get 15gb of data with tethering for around or under $30 per month, I would take it....but, we know that AINT going to happen....

I'm with you on the peace of mind thing on unlimited, it's nice never having to worry about overages. Prepay misses features I need so why I only run 3-5gb per month it's not worth me trading in unlimited data when it's only $80pm out the door. Getting the M8 for nothing to up another two years only made it sweeter.

As a side note, AT&T recently changed my capped voice minutes with rollover to unlimited. No charge, I just assume it simplifies plans and minute tracking for them due to the few left on that type of plan.

I still have my unlimited data plan but not for long. I only use less than a half of a gig every month since I have wifi at home and work. I was under the impression that I was locked in at the price I was paying forever so I was keeping the plan because I figured a few years down the road it would be cheaper than what Verizon would be offering. Well, after they jacked the price up $20 it's time to get rid of it. I can save about $70 a month by getting rid of it and cancelling my second line on the plan which is not a smart phone. I may also get rid of Verizon completely since their phone selection is terrible.

I was planning on changing my plan this week before my next billing cycle, But now that I see I can sell my plan I may keep it for a few weeks. I could use the money to buy a nice unlocked phone to use on another network.

I'm still grandfathered in but my wife just told me she really wants us to move over to T-Mobile to save some money. My only concerns are throttling and coverage. a lot of folks in this thread claim they don't use more than 10g a month on the high end. Some can't even imagine how anyone could use all their allotted data. How can you not?? most phones are FHD and there's a tone of media that can be streamed on your phone. I average 70g a month used on Verizon by watching HD videos, no tethering. Watching interviews on youtube in HD, 24hr races in HD, music, file transfers etc. I could use wifi at home but it will interfere with my gaming connection so I don't. 9 times out of 10 my carriers data is faster than my wifi at home (ATT sucks). At work we have wifi but it's password locked so none of the employees can use it and I'm sure it's slow. In conclusion I could burn through any tiered data plan in a few days so I'm going to stick with my grandfathered plan. I have to do more research with T-Mobile but if they can support my usage I'll move over to them.

Yes. Cricket $25/mo ($10 discount per line, 3 phones on the account) no contact all inclusive. After 2.5gb it slows, I almost never get that far. I use primarily wifi.
