Whoa! NOKia stock price...

Are they selling the gains from hype before the market closes or during the night of an announcement when the market is closed?

Thanks for all the insight into this.

At least with tech stock, the big investors usually take profits during pre-market trading (on the day of the announcement). This allows them to take advantage of those that placed unfulfilled buy orders the previous day on the hype peak.

You guys are right, there's no denying that. I bought in last July and well I'm not stock trading expert I have NOK like a hawk since my purchase and can agree when the stock moves up it's normally do to the bigger picture of things. Quarterly earning/loss announcements or signs of positive sales in emerging markets seem to play a larger role than a specific phone model being announced. I think if Nokia continues to capture market share while continuing to innovate then we'll see a slow long climb like a5cent mentions. I guess last year when the price was in the mid $4's I assumed that they would only rise from there and not drop substantially again.
