Why am I not able to receive messages from new contacts?

Suggestions for fixing not receiving messages from new contacts

Randomly on my L925 I stopped being able to get messages and phone calls from new contacts. They get my messages though. Some of my existing contacts come up as "Unknown" when calling.

Anything I can do besides factory reset?

If you're on Cyan, just back up the phone and reset

What does Cyan have to do with it?
You're jumping to a more drastic action, slow down, why are people so quick to suggest nuking a phone at a moments notice?

First, try a soft reset.
Press and hold power + volume down until it vibrates.

Not all of it still.
And plenty would be lost anyway.

A hard reset is a more last resort or two, not something to be suggested at the first sign of trouble IMHO.

Sadly, I'm aware of that.... I suggest it, because people are mostly afraid of it, but on the other hand they should be careful
