Why aren't my contact names with accents being synced to car stereo (also Microsoft) after upgrade to WP8.1?

Contacts names with accents not being synced to car stereo (also Microsoft) after upgrade to WP8.1

Previous phone, Android, contacts with accents synced OK to Blue&Me 5.5 (Windows Embedded Automotive).

Current phone, Lumia 620, synced OK while running WP8.

After upgrading to WP8.1, contact names with accents don't sync.

Any similar situation reported? Is there a fix?
