Why aren't my SD Card photo albums showing in photos app (Lumia 730 wp8.1 update)?

SD Card photo albums not shown in photos app (Lumia 730 wp8.1 update)

Hi,

I can't see the photos which are in my SD card.
It's showing "camera roll" & "screenshot" & "saved picture" folder's images in Photos app but there are others folders also which i created like "Friend Pics" and others. These folder's images not shown in photos app.

I tried to format the sd card and factory reset my phone.
It is very weird and I would appreciate any help or suggestion.

I will post any info you need from me if needed. :smile:

Here's a possible - though weird - solution: Add the corresponding folders, but this time, do it in the phone storage as well.

I went through the opposite route - create folders in phone storage, then create corresponding folders in the microSD card.

I created a folder named as"written" in phone> pictures>
Then I moved two pictures from SD card to phone and voila. It's worked but when I created same name folder in SD card> pictures>"written"and moved those two photo from phone to SD card then photo app does not anything in album named as"written".

Lumias can be VERY picky about the SD cards they like. SanDisk cards, for example, often work but not always and not for everyone. The cards that seem to always work (never seen anyone claim one didn't) are Samsung cards. Try getting one of them. It usually solves the missing media or duplicate media issues often seen on Lumias trying to use SD cards. Worked well on my old 820.

Lol I'm using Samsung memory card but before it, I was using SanDisk and that was also having same issue so I don't think it's a memory card issue, I think it's a "denim" problem because in windows 8.1 that memory card is working fine. So some tricks may work.

Darn. I only have denim on my 930 so I can't test with SDs on that. Best of luck.
