Why can I not get pictures in text messages on my Windows phone?

I just received a text with some media content but when I click on the "Get media content now" link, I get the "Getting media content" message for about half a second, and then it reverts back to the "Get media content now" link. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated!

Do you have any data turned on...

Either cellular data through your phone plan or a working WiFi connection. Picture mail requires data.

If that is not the problem, do a web search for "<phone model name> <carrier name> MMS Settings" and follow the instructions you find. You might not have the right value set up to use MMS (picture mail).
