Why can't I change from Groove Music to VLC or any other music app?

I follow the instructions, which, of course, are simple, to change the default music app, but it won't change from Groove Music. Other apps do change.

I have had no issues making VLC the default for playing all my music on my Desktop PC. I've never tried it on an ARM based tablet or phone, however.

You didn't state whether you're using a phone or PC. I don't believe the phone can be changed, the PC should not be an issue in changing it.
