Why can't I reload AOL desktop software OS 10 windows?

Can't reload AOL desktop software OS 10 windows

Aol stopped working. I deleted everything AOL and tried to reload AOL Desktop. Message says can't reload because communications software is open?
anyone have any ideas? Reloading in the past has always worked.

Did you just "delete" everything AOL, or did you actually do a proper uninstall of the AOL software?

Try bringing up Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) and scroll down the list of processes. Right click on anything AOL related and select "End Task".

Then try reinstalling the AOL software.

Or from the same Task Manager applet, go over to the "Startup" tab and scroll down to find the AOL program(s) right click and disable, reboot your PC and then reinstall the AOL software.
