Why did I lose all my contacts from A through L?

I had a Nokia Lumia 920. It broke. I got a Lumia 830, connected it, everything was fine for 2 days. Then, all my contacts from A through L went missing, in the middle of the day. I had a friend who said the same thing happened to him, and his son. His son got all his contacts back, but he never got any back. It has been over a week, and I haven't gotten any back. I signed into my Onedrive account, and only the M-Z are there, plus the ones I have added back in over the last week. I was not synced with AT&T before this, so AT&T sync only has M-Z as well. Very frustrating, and no one seems to be able to explain it.

Make sure your contacts arent filtered. If you have them filtered you may only be seeing what's been filtered.
