Why did upgrading from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 hang at 32?

Upgrading from Windows 8.1 Pro To Windows 10 hangs at 32%

Last night I was trying to upgrade my windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 but when it reached 32% it stayed like that for approx. 10 hours until I gave up and did a hard reset. Any ideas what I should do?

Bing search "windows 10 install 32% stuck". There is a thread in Microsoft forum on it.
