I think that error is because some app had it's update process corrupted, so the update request is interrupted and hence the error. If you can pin the app that is refusing to update then you can delete it and then reinstall again.

Soft reset never hurts you can do it by pressing Volume down + power button for 10 sec.

Another issue could be your MS account and it needs attention, you can find it in Settings/email+accounts.

If none of that works... then you should consider hard reset.
