Why do my family settings prevent app downloading?

My Family settings prevent app downloading

I have an issue with my new Windows Phone device. When trying to download an app from the marketplace I get this message:

I am extremely frustrated with this. I changed my account age and have no problems with my PC with this setting, why is this happening? How do I get rid of this awfulness?

Make a fake account and have it follow the instructions given to set up My Family and call you as your own child.

Edit: that's what I had to do.
