Why does my MS Band start counting steps only after I have taken a round and come back to my home?

MS Band starts counting steps only after I have taken a round and come back to my home.

Of late I have noticed that my MS Band does not count steps unless I return to my home after my morning walk. The count of steps get reset to 0 every night but this is a new phenomenon.
